Getting to Acklins Island

Flight from the West coast of the United States can appear to take a while because of the time zone changes.  There is a 3-hour difference from the West coast.  Make your plane reservations well in advance of your booking dates to insure your dates and schedule.  

The airport on Acklins Island is called Spring Point.  Bahamasair flies to Spring Point on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  The flight departs Nassau at 9:15 am.  Departure time from Spring Point is 10:20 am.  The flight is 1 hour.  Round trip airfare from Nassau to Spring Point is $210.  Your will go through airport security for travel within the Bahamas, so get to the airport early.

Learn about some of the Bahama�s past by visiting the historic monuments, museums and gardens.  Bring your walking shoes and visit Fort Charlotte, Government House, Pompey Museum and the Queen�s Staircase.  Since Nassau is the major cruise ship destination there is an abundance of shops, restaurants, nightclubs and coffee houses
